Cape Cod Canal Webcam

Cape Cod Canal Webcam at Mass Maritime Academy

The Cape Cod Canal is a water passage through the eastern part of Cape Cod in Massachusetts. The canal connects Buzzards Bay with the Atlantic Ocean and is about 34 miles long. The Cape Cod Canal Webcam at Mass Maritime Academy offers the opportunity to watch boats pass through the canal as they head from Buzzards Bay to Cape Cod Bay or vice versa. The Tidal Flats Recreation Area, the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, the Buzzards Bay Recreation Area, the Bourne Bridge, and Bourne village together make the town of Bourne. Each of these cities is visible through the webcam. Additionally, the online camera streams live.

Recreational and industrial boats use the canal extensively. The Service Road on either side of the canal is accessible for fishing. The line skaters, bicyclists, and walkers widely use this. Whales and dolphins, including endangered North Atlantic right whales, use the canal occasionally, resulting in the canal’s closure.
